REFURBISHMENT + RE-BUILD @ ST JOSEPH'S HOME

Client: The Little Sisters of The Poor
Location: Manchester

DHA Architects were commissioned in 2015 to undertake a long-term refurbishment programme of this 1980's care home to improve the quality of nursing care provision in line with Care Quality Commission requirements.

Works are ongoing and have so far comprised the complete refurbishment of nearly half of the building with a further phase of demolition works upcoming which will see the re-building of one of the nursing wings to provide an element of purpose-built "Independent Living" apartments.

Works have included the provision of new mechanical and electrical services alongside the enlarging of bedroom and en-suite accomodation with the provision of further communal spaces to foster resident inclusivity.
